“If you do not expect anything from any one, little things keeps surprising you” – Shivani Kshirsagar
Shivani is a third-year chemical engineering student who is driven by values. She believes in providing value to others, being respectful, grateful, and seeing the beauty in others. She has been a source of inspiration to the students, by her words, actions, and thoughts. “Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No!” is one of her many spellbinding quotes. Always leading by example, she has been instrumental in creating an attitude of gratitude in our team. She has been mentoring a team of two, 2nd-year students – Asha and Hashim in the ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ project. Believing in the principle of “stop complaining and start appreciating”, this team has reinstated the importance of gratitude and helped our team create more than 800 gratitude cards. All these cards were transformed into an elegantly written book which proves that real happiness lies in making others happy. This project has created immeasurable happiness, invaluable smiles, and uncontrollable tears of joy.
Shivani has been at the heart of many wonderful initiatives and interactions that have taken place in our E-Cell. She played a key role in executing a project named ‘Chai with successful people’ where successful people from various fields were interviewed to know their life principles. People find great joy in interacting with Shivani. She has also written a chapter in the E-Cell Odyssey book about this project. Shivani along with Triveni has pioneered the groundbreaking “Voices of Alumni” book series with the book Voices of Alumni Entrepreneurship Edition. In this book, they have documented the stories, thoughts, and life principles of our extremely successful alumni entrepreneurs. This book has created enormous joy for the alumni and created opportunities for the students to work with the alumni.
The way in which she has been able to do all these activities and at the same time take care of her academics is quite astounding. This has been possible because of her punctuality and belief in our value system. In the first-year summer vacation itself, she has done an internship at ‘Kakathi Karshak pumps’ where, she has worked on liquid ring vacuum pumps. This is quite remarkable because usually, students start going for internships during the second year. She is currently working on Industrial Symbiosis for Circular Economy which is a novel waste management technology with the potential to change the world. With a great desire to learn and develop holistically, she has attended many workshops, lectures, participated in quizzes, and completed online courses such as the professional training and coaching fundamentals course by SCRUMstudy. She is also a fantastic singer, we always love hearing her singing. Our team is grateful to Shivani for being herself and inspiring us. We are sure that she will spread happiness everywhere she goes. Shivani is a co-author of this book which was mentored by Shravan sir(Alumnus). She along with triveni interviewed 11 entrepreneur alumni and learnt a lot. This was the moment when she believed that if we dream big, we can achieve anything. She learned and enjoyed the process of writing a book.
She along with her team have interviewed successful people and got to know their success principles. She interviewed people who are successful in their respective fields. They have interviewed Satyapal sir( Alumnus), Srinivas kasinath sir(Alumnus), Dhanalaxmi mam(Professor), Vittal sir( cataloguer), Shravan sir(Alumnus,our Mentor), Ravi Mayreddy sir and Venkat Reddy garu(Security Guard).
She worked as a Customer Relationship manager for Chak sir and Rajani sir who are realtors from Austin and Denver.
Attitude of Gratitude is one of the pillars of Thop Ecell. She believes, “ We must stop complaining and start appreciating”. Everyone in this team support each other, respect each other and see the beauty in others.
She is the advisor of the book “Attitude of Gratitude”.
Everyone made around 1500+ Gratitude cards till date. This project unlocked many hearts and created happiness.
Gratitude Team transformed this into a powerful book which will disrupt the whole system in the world who does not taste real happiness yet. Real happiness lies in making others happy.
– Shivani is currently working on the project Industrial Symbiosis for Circular Economy under the guidance of Ulhas Parlikar sir.
-She is also working on a Review Paper titled “Applications of Cobalt as a catalyst”.
